Why is your work with YBMKQ important to you?

Creating inspiring and transformative spaces where young people can turn their pain into purpose has always been my mission. Drawing from my own life experiences—losing my uncle, best friend, godson, and countless other friends and family members—I want to show young people in our community that success is possible, and that it knows no age limits. I want our parents to feel reassured that they are not alone on this journey. We are in this together—I am a part of your village, here to support and uplift your young people daily.

Why is your work with YBMKQ important to you?

I am driven to create and sustain spaces where youth and communities can thrive in meaningful, lasting ways. My work centers on building environments that prioritize academic success, mental wellness, and intentional, transformative experiences. I believe true impact goes beyond access. It is reflected in how individuals grow, lead, and navigate the world with confidence and resilience. I am committed to ensuring that every space and interaction contributes to lasting impact, expanded opportunity, and the ability for people to reach their full potential and create change in their own lives and communities.

Why is your work with YBMKQ important to you? 

My work with YBMKQ is both personal and purposeful. I have experienced significant loss and trauma due to violence within my family and community, which shaped my understanding of how deeply young people are impacted by their environments and how powerful consistent, caring support can be.
 

As a Black woman, a mother, and an educator, I am deeply committed to uplifting and motivating our young Black kings and queens. Creating spaces where they feel safe, affirmed, and empowered is vital, because if we do not invest in our own children, who will? I believe in building intentional programs that nurture the whole child while partnering with families, because healing and growth happen in community. At YBMKQ, I am honored to help build that village. This work is more than a role. It is responsibility, purpose, and legacy.

Why is your work with YBMKQ important to you? 

I love being a part of YBMKQ because I’m passionate about working with young people and watching them grow into the incredible individuals God has called them to be. My belief is that by investing in them, we can help them realize their full potential. I am grateful for the  opportunity to learn from them while demonstrating my genuine care for their well-being. My hope for this work is that it empowers them to step confidently into their futures with faith, purpose, and self-belief.

Why is your work with YBMKQ important to you?

Working with kids is really rewarding because they have such a pure, unfiltered way of seeing the world. They bring a lot of energy and creativity to everything they do. Plus, it’s fun to watch them learn and grow.

Why is your work with YBMKQ important to you?

When you love what you do, you never “work” a day in your life” is a quote that was instilled in me a long time ago and I love working at YBMKQ because I love the work that YBMKQ is doing with/for the children. Being a parent myself I understand that having support and resources for our children is so important to their future. YBMKQ is going above and beyond to be there for our children and being a part of that mission is so rewarding every single day.
