YBMKQ is the leading Youth Organization in the greater Pittsburgh area - inspiring youth to embrace their true excellence while unleashing their inner potential. Our programs help our young adults shape their own values while providing them with all the tools, resources and support they need in order to evolve into confident leaders tomorrow. Who We Are
YBMKQ has been present since 2017 - providing exceptional enrichment and leadership development opportunities to youth in the greater Pittsburgh area. We offer youth an opportunity to create and mold their own unique experiences through our wide range of educational and leadership activities. We see the true power that our youth hold, and we have made it our mission to transform them into natural born leaders, ready to take on the world.

Impacting the Lives of Youth Since 2016
Young Black Motivated Kings & Queens (YBMKQ) is a community-based organization made up of some of the most dedicated young men and women of the city. We have been in existence since the summer of 2016. In the face of constant discouragement and scrutiny, a group of young men and women have chosen to stand apart and show the community that young black kings and queens are active, motivated, and empowered to be the change. Our awareness of how we are often depicted in mainstream media, and even perceived by some of our peers. YBMKQ is our attempt to counteract this narrative by embracing our agency and inviting others to do the same, no matter their circumstance or background. Our primary mission is engaging high school-aged youth in becoming the leaders of tomorrow while serving the community. In addition to providing enriching opportunities for youth, we also plan events for community members to come out to build strong connections with the youth, and network.

A huge part of our success is due to mentorship. We wouldn’t have the resources or opportunities without the help of the people around us. That being said, we want to pay it forward and serve the young people around us. Our goal is to be for them, more of what we wish we would've had growing up.

Building a Better Future
After the shooting death of Antwon Rose II, YBMKQ saw how important it was for young people like ourselves to stand up for our own lives because if we don’t then no one else will! Activism, youth-activism to be exact serves a huge role in our community and we have seen that no one seems to listen unless youth stand up and stand out against the injustices they face every day!
